A white functional box is inserted in the bedroom. The box acts as "water space": shower and bathroom. It stands alone and faces the bedroom all
around. Simple form, sliding doors, spatial humbleness and the strong contrast with the wooden floor connect together to create a philosophical
atmosphere.
Appreciation towards Five AM for providing the following description:
業主希望將屋頂改造成臥室套房。應業主要求,建筑師將屋頂抬高,帶來寬敞的站立空間。
The owner asked a local architect to enlarge his house with a big bedroom suite in the roof. His solution was replacing the roof by a higher one, so
the owners could easily stand up.
As the owner wanted an open and airy feeling, we designed a monolithic white box that doesn’t reach the ceiling. The height delivers the privacy
when needed, but makes it still possible to interact with each other. As the box stands completely free, the room feels spacious & delivers challenging
perspectives.
We have chosen to make the box entirely out of ‘Solid Surface’ to obtain a seamless cube on the outside and inside. On the bedside, 2 doors can swing
open. Like this the owners can take a bath and enjoy a movie on the tv hidden in the closet.
As we wanted to let the roof structure stand by his own, only the shower faucet is coming trough the ceiling. The lighting fixtures are completely
hidden on top of the 12 long closet and on top of the box walls.
與白色環境形成鮮明對比的胡楊木地板為居室傳遞了溫暖感。
The walnut floor, in sharp contrast with the white surroundings, delivers the pleasant warmth to the interior.
