form the designer: Located in Beijing's Xidan business district with a business hall area of 2,000 square meters, it is the first ICBC smart bank in Beijing as well as the largest smart banking outlet in China.Different from traditional bank branches, the smart bank features that the majority of its business can be completed through smart self-service equipment, achieving 24/7 self-services and remote manual services.When we first arrived at the project site, there were many structural columns on it. We were considering of establishing a brand new open smart bank, so that we used these structural columns as the spatial highlights of the smart bank. We took the element of peony petal from ICBC Peony Card,and geometrized it with modern methods before combining it with the structural columns. Then we furnished it with wood finishes, acrylic and other materials, while avoiding the huge volume of intelligent machine, so as to bring a brand new and affinity customer experience different from the traditional banking space. Smart bank is the inevitable choice of the development of bank in the Internet era. Beijing Xidan ICBC Smart Bank is a try of ICBC to transform traditional bank services and move Internet thinking offline.
